Lee's Road was the place to be on Sunday afternoon as our u12 side hosted the famous Cherry Orchard FC in the SFAI National trophy semi final.
Ennis town coming out on top, 2-1 winners in a brilliant game. Both sides showing their skills and putting in great performances.
Referee Trevor White and his linemen led the teams out as they completed the traditional walk out onto the field.
As the game began Ennis town were on top and putting on the pressure on the Cherry Orchard Defence.
On the 9th minute Ben Lyne broke through the Cherry orchard defence, he drew the keeper out, before crossing to his brother Robbie who calmly slotted the ball into the net to give Ennis town the lead.
After conceding cherry orchard began pressurising the Ennis town defence.
On the 18th minute the oppositions pressure paid off as they equalised from a corner.
The stalemate didn't last long, and on the 23 minute, Ben Lyne again broke through the opposition defence before scoring.
In the second half both teams had chances, with both keepers making brilliant saves.
Ennis town held onto the lead as the game finished 2-1 and we progressed to the national final.
The national final will be played on the weekend of the 12th/13th of May against St Mochtas FC, venue and time TBC.
We would like thank all the parents and volunteers who helped out on Sunday with food, organising and everything on the day and all season.

Well done to the players and coaches, who have put in a huge effort to get to this point of the competition.
Hopefully the players can take inspiration from Newmarket Celtic's success this weekend and bring home the Trophy.
